The President of Tatarstan got acquainted with the sowing campaign in the Agryz district and met with agricultural producers of the region

Today, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited Agryzsky district of Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov and the head of the Agryzsky municipal district Valery Makarov.

During the working visit, Rustam Minnikhanov and Marat Akhmetov familiarized themselves with the progress of spring field work in the farms of the districts and met with heads of agricultural enterprises, investors of the agro-industrial complex and heads of rural settlements of the Agryzsky municipal district. The meeting was held on the field of winter rye near the village Urazaevo.

The head of the Agryzsky municipal district Valery Makarov reported that spring sowing is conducted on an area of ​​30 thousand hectares, including 14.7 thousand hectares of spring grain: 6.3 thousand hectares of barley, 6.4 thousand hectares of wheat , 1.7 thousand hectares of oats, 0.38 thousand hectares of  rape. The planting of potatoes is in full swing. Fertilizing was carried out on an area of ​​12 thousand hectares.

Marat Akhmetov noted the region started planting later than the others for climatic reasons. “Sowing goes at a fairly good pace. The soil has a productive supply of moisture. The state of winter crops is relatively good, its death is not more than 20%. However, the quantity of mineral fertilizers applied is not enough for a good harvest”, the minister concluded.

The direct influence of mineral fertilizers on increasing yields was also noted by the President of Tatarstan, sharing the experience of leading regions of Russia on this issue. Rustam Minnikhanov also discussed the urgent issues of the district, including the construction of a school and rental housing.

At the end of the event, the guests got acquainted with the products of the area. So, one of the personal subsidiary farms of the region brought to the exhibition chickens and quails of various breeds. Despite the fact that Firaya Sultanova moved to the village and took up poultry farming only 3 years ago, the livestock already has more than 6 thousand heads of ducks, geese, chickens and quails.

The exhibition also presented seedlings of peasant farms that received grants from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan and implement projects for growing garlic and strawberries.

In addition, the exhibition presented dairy products produced in the region, seeds of cereals and potatoes planted in the fields of the region this year.
