Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan welcomes colleagues from the Republic of Dagestan

Today, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolay Titov met with a delegation from the Republic of Dagestan led by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic Magomed Shapiev.

The meeting was also attended by deputies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nazip Khazipov and Rishat Khabipov, General Director of AO RATSIN Askhat Sharapov, Head of the State Unitary Enterprise “GGSUU Breeding Animal Production of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan” Rishat Zaripov, Head of the Veterinary Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT  Almaz Khisamutdinov, Chairman of the Board of the Tatpotrebsoyuz Rashat Shaymardanov and other responsible persons.

The meeting was opened by Nikolay Titov. “We are very glad to see you here in Tatarstan,” he said. The first deputy minister acquainted the colleagues from Dagestan with the agro-industrial complex of the republic and the most significant indicators of work, noting that agriculture is one of the priority sectors in Tatarstan.

Representing the delegation of the Republic of Dagestan, Magomed Shapiev noted that they would be particularly interested in the experience of Tatarstan in crop production and breeding work in animal husbandry, since in the Republic of Dagestan animal husbandry is a priority area and its production makes up 56% of the gross regional product. In addition, intensive work is underway to develop a strategy for sheep farming in the Republic of Dagestan.

Speaking about the peculiarities of his republic, Magomed Shapiev said that sheep breeding is widely developed in Dagestan. “72% of the livestock is Dagestan sheep rock. The animals are kept free pasturing, which has a positive effect on the quality of the meat produced and its high taste qualities. Therefore, meat products are in demand and are well exported”, added Magomed Shapiev.

In continuation of the conversation, Nikolay Titov noted that the Republic of Tatarstan also annually buys sheep from Dagestan for the holiday of Kurban Bayram. In addition, Nikolai Titov showed interest in breeding sheep in the republic, drawing attention to the available resources and potential in the production of environmentally friendly organic products.

The meeting participants discussed opportunities for further cooperation. During the visit, the delegation will visit the Kazan hippodrome, the Kazan agroprompark, the Maysky greenhouse complex, as well as a number of peasant farms and family farms in Pestrechinsky, Tyulyachinsky, Alekseevsky and Spassky districts of Tatarstan.
