14 October 2019, Monday

At the Forum of Rural Initiatives, which was held by the Russian Union of Rural Youth (RURY) at the venue of the exhibition "Golden Autumn -2019", teams from 10 pilot villages presented the final business programs for the development of their territories.

The leader of the development team from the village of Munaika of the Mendeleevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan Artem Messeev presented the project of the Bird Paradise cooperative. It includes the creation of peasant (farmer) and personal subsidiary plots, an educational site and co-working on training for small businesses, the construction of tourist facilities and infrastructure. In their project, activists intend to adhere to the idea of careful use of natural resources and sorting of recyclables. The development team has already received a Rosmolodezh grant to implement the project, which in particular includes training of 8-10 young families in poultry farming. It is expected that this year at least 8 families will begin to receive income, and then more than a hundred villagers will participate in the project and successfully sell products.

“The most important thing is that we have developed a mechanism for including villages in the state program for integrated development and have already worked it out in 10 pilot territories. It is about forming local development teams, training them and preparing a development program. It is expected that by the end of 2020 the project will cover 3 thousand Russian villages, ”said a coordinator of the project “Village. Territory of development” , Chairman of the RCCM Julia Ogloblina. The results of the project, launched in March 2019, were evaluated by the Deputy Chairman of the VEB.RF State Corporation for Development, General Director of the non-profit organization Foundation for the Development of Single-industry Towns Irina Makieva, Acting Director of the Department for Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Renat Bibarsov, as well as Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee Agricultural Policy Alexei Lavrinenko.

Following the presentation, the experts gave advice to each of the teams on the implementation of projects, including on mechanisms for attracting funding, inclusion in the state program "Integrated Development of Rural Areas", and also on the search for investors.
