Everyday life of farmers: The right direction is determined by family tradition

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan pays great attention to the development of small and medium enterprises in rural areas. Today in every district there are people who have opened their own business and successfully developed it. One of them is the Zagriev family from the village of Rangazar of the Sarmanovsky district.

Even before the formation of the peasant farm, the Zagriev family was engaged in crop production, kept cattle on a personal farmstead. The property had 36.5 hectares of land, mainly fodder crops were sown. Later they decided to create their own farm. The priorities of family agribusiness have remained the same - livestock and fodder crops.

So, in February 2015, in the Sarmanovsky district, one more farm was opened. After almost 4 years, the amount of cultivated land increased to 255 ha, on which barley and perennial grasses are grown for livestock feed. Farmers are engaged in raising gobies of black-motley breed from six months to a year and a half. Today they have 150 young animals.

Last year, the farm won a grant from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan by the program “Development of family livestock farms”. Part of the money was spent on the construction of a livestock building, another one on the purchase of bulls, they even managed to buy a tractor. All family is involved in the business: mother Sariya and wife Leysan are responsible for the documentation. There are also local residents hired- these are watchmen, cattlemen, a handyman, a tractor driver. Ayrat Zagriev is getting higher education although he has been familiar with all the subtleties of rural life since childhood. For 30 years, Airat’s grandfather was in charge of the collective farm, and years later, the grandson built a building for animals.

The family of Zagrievs is growing up children of 7 and 4 years old, who, despite their age, are already involved in rural work, and the head of the peasant farm hopes that in the future they will develop the family business.
