RT Ministry of Agriculture and Food is ready to support agricultural producers interested in switching to organic production
This was announced today at a meeting with agricultural producers interested in organic production by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Production of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildus Gabdrakhmanov.
He recalled that on January 1, 2020, the law on organic products will come into force. “In a few years, organic products will become the most demanded and competitive in the Russian and world markets,” Ildus Gabdrakhmanov noted.
Director of the UPC "Organika" FGBOU DPO "TIPKA" Valery Gogin spoke about the introduction of organic production in Tatarstan, its legislative regulation. “Human health is 70% dependent on lifestyle and nutrition. Therefore, today environmentally friendly products that allow the use of the most safe fertilizers for humans and the environment, plant protection products, feed and food additives, namely organic products, the production of which implies a complete ban on the use of agrochemicals become more important. At the same time, a correct crop rotation, increased biological activity of the soil, and a number of other agricultural methods make it possible to obtain good productivity without the use of herbicides and pesticides, ”said Valery Gogin.
The head of TatNIISH Marcel Tagirov spoke about the scientific support of organic agriculture and its development. The discussion was continued by Sergey Gogin, Director of Test-Tatarstan RSMC CJSC, who spoke about the requirements for certification of organic production and its main stages.
Agricultural producers discussed the issues of interest. A representative of the Andryushkino Agro-Industrial Holding of the Mamadyshsky District, engaged in the cultivation of strawberries, currants and raspberries, shared her experience of switching to organic farming and passing voluntary certification. “Our products are actively purchased for baby food. Therefore, it was decided to push it to the highest standards of quality and safety. By switching to organic farming, we have maintained almost the same productivity. The certification procedure itself did not cause any difficulties, ”said Oksana Pestsova.
The assembled agricultural producers also expressed interest in switching to organic production. At the end of the event, Ildus Gabrakhmanov noted that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan is ready to support all agricultural producers, both large and personal subsidiary farms. “Certification will not be expensive, it is also possible to reduce the profit of agricultural producers during the certification period, due to some decrease in productivity, when it is still not possible to sell manufactured products at an increased price, like organic. We are considering budget support measures for enterprises for this period, ”said Ildus Gabrakhmanov.
