The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan: 1,317,600 ha have been sowed with spring crops, which is by 267,800 ha more than last year

As of May 12, 2016, in total 1,317,600 ha have been sowed with spring crops in the republic, which is 74% of the plan. As of this date last year, 1,049,800 ha had been sowed with spring crops.

The leading districts are Zainsk (49,400 ha have been sowed with crops, which is 89%), Aznakaevo (42,100 ha or 64%), Buinsk (41,600 ha or 69%), Sarmanovo (41,300 ha or 75%), Arsk (41,200 ha or 62%).

In total spring grains have been sowed on 765,300 ha (or 73% of the plan) in the republic (in 2015 – 609,200 ha), where 268,900 ha (or 60%) have been sowed with spring wheat (in 2015 – 153,700 ha), 332,500 ha (or 93%) – with barley (in 2015 – 338,200 ha), 56,800 ha (or 90%) – with oat (in 2015 – 55,700 ha), 50,200 ha (or 91%) – with pea (in 2015 – 43,300 ha), 48,000 ha (or 51%) – with grain maize (in 2015 – 13,000 ha), and 23,200 ha (or 15%) – with silage (in 2015 – 10,700 ha).

29,900 ha (26%) have been sowed with rape (in 2015 – 8,900 ha), 66,400 ha (60%) have been sowed with sunflower for oilseeds (in 2015 – 21,400 ha).

52,000 ha (82%) have been sowed with sugar beetroot (in 2015 – 37,400 ha).

162,700 ha (60%) have been sowed with annual grasses (in 2015 – 142,700 ha).
