Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan reported on forage preservation and records in animal breeding for the 1st half of the year

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov reported on the 1st cut of perennial grasses and the records in animal breeding for the first half of the year in the republic at a session in the house of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan today.

The videoconferencing session with all municipal districts of the republic was held by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin also took part in the session.

Marat Akhmetov informed that the 1st cut of perennial grasses had almost been finished. 850,000 tons of forage had been preserved in Tatarstan, including 320,000 tons of hay and 2.3 million tons of haylage. On average, 14.3 dt of forage from the 1st grass cut had been made per animal for wintering.

Marat Akhmetov also spoke on the records in animal breeding for the 1t half of the year. Thus, according to his words, 258,000 tons of meet and poultry, 905,000 tons of milk, 30 million eggs had been produced within this period. The livestock population stays on the previous year level, which is 1 million 44 thousand animals, but at the same time the number of cows has reduced by 5,400 animals in private farm households.

Marat Akhmetov emphasized that animal breeding provided 80% of financial and economic records in agricultural production for the 1st half of the year. In total, the gross product in all kinds of farm households amounted to almost 90 billion rubles.

The average salary in the 1st half of the year has increased by 11% compared with the previous year level and made up 19,700 rubles. Marat Akhmetov noted that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan together with heads of municipal districts would continue paying special attention to the issues of salaries, because they are indicators of social stability in the village.
