Meeting with the delegation from the Republic of Karelia took place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan

Today Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov met the delegation from the Republic of Karelia headed by Deputy Head of the region on strategic development Vladimir Timofeev. The meeting took place in the Palace of Agriculturalists.

The following officials also participated in the meeting: Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan - Nikolai Titov, Rishat Khabipov, Oleg Zemskov; Chair of the Association of Tatarstan Farmers and Farmsteads - Kamiyar Baitemirov; Head of the Chief Directorate for Veterinary of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan - Almaz Khisamutdinov, Head of the Chief State Agricultural Directorate for Pedigree Animal Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan - Rishat Zaripov; the representatives of the Republic of Karelia: Interim Minister of Agriculture, Fishery and Hunting Industry – Oksana Gavrosh; Counsellor Vladimir Labinov; representatives of municipality administrations; directors of AIC organizations.

Giving his opening speech, Marat Akhmetov informed the delegation about the state of Tatarstan AIC. He spoke on implementation of state supportive programs, production of crop husbandry goods and cattle breeding products, etc. “Tatarstan has mixed economy – alongside big agricultural holding companies there are agricultural enterprises, peasant farm enterprises and private subsidiary farmings in the republic, - noted the minister. – We appreciate the role of small size businesses and enterprises in development of villages and rural territories, so the republic provides state support for them”.

The minister also spoke about tasks and aims in the sphere of agriculture. “As of today, there are only 154 CV per 100 ha of fields in Tatarstan, - stated Marat Akhmetov. – We have to increase the figure in the nearest future. It is necessary to decrease out migration from rural territories and to provide raise in salaries for those employed in agriculture. We have resources for that”.

After that, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Rishat Khabipov gave a speech. “Almost 900,000 people live on rural territories. Villages are not only opportunities for agro-business, but also a lifestyle for every 4th Tatarstan resident”, - he noted.

According to the words of Rishat Khabipov, there are about 5,000 peasant farm enterprises and 450,000 personal subsidiary plots in Tatarstan. In 2016 they produced agricultural goods amounted to 128.1 billion rubles in total, which made over 50% of the republican output. “In every district there are deputy heads responsible for development of small size businesses. Tatarstan has long-term programs on development of business on rural territories which are analyzed quarterly”, - informed Rishat Khabipov.

This year there are 16 supportive programs for small size business with co-financing from the federal budget and 27 republican programs which provide subsidies and grants amounted to 14.5 billion rubles in total, he added.

Deputy Head of the Republic of Karelia Vladimir Timofeev thanked Tatarstan party for hospitality and spoke on the state of agriculture in their region. “Dairy cattle breeding is quite well developed in our republic, and we are the leaders in the country concerning aqua culture, - he stated. – 21,000 tons of fish were produced in 2016, we are planning to reach the figure of 35,000 tons within the nearest 7 years. Now we are going to define the trend for further development, that is why we are visiting different constituent entities of the Russian Federation. This visit is very effective, we have learnt a lot of new things, Tatarstan rich experience in development of agricultural production”.

It is worth reminding that yesterday the representatives of the delegation visited OAO “Ak Bars Pestretsy” Agro Firm”, a fish farm of Rustam Nasybullin in Pestretsy municipal districts, farms in Tyulyachi municipal district, “Kuyuk” farm, “Akhmetov R.G.” peasant farm enterprise in Saby municipal district and OOO “Vostok” in Kukmor municipal district.
