Sugar factories of Tatarstan produced 33 778 tons of sugar from the new harvest of beets

The harvesting of sugar beets started in the republic at the end of August. Sugar factories have started receiving and processing beets of the 2020 harvest.

250,679 tons of beets were transported to the sites of the sugar factories "Buinsky Sugar" and "Zainsky Sugar". The enterprises started processing 13 756 tons daily.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, since the beginning of the season, sugar factories of Tatarstan have procured 346 thousand tons of sugar beets, processed 250 679 tons, produced 33 778 tons of sugar, sugar yield is 15.9%.

Thus, the Zainsk Sugar Plant processes 7,982 tons of root crops daily. To date, 234,402 tons of beets have been processed here.

From September 12, the Buinsky Sugar Factory also began producing sugar from the new harvest of sweet beets. The daily processing capacity is 5,774 tons; since the beginning of the season, 16,277 tons of sugar beets have been processed.

Today, beets are harvested in Apastovsky, Buinsky, Drozhzhanovsky, Tetyushsky, Zainsky, Tukayevsky, Sarmanovsky, Nizhnekamsky, Menzelinsky and Bugulma districts of the republic, 465 combines are working in the fields.

In total, over 49 thousand hectares have been allocated for sugar beets this year. So far, 25% of the sown areas have been mastered, 505.2 thousand tons of beets have been dug up. The average yield per hectare was 414.3 centners per hectare.
